The Vitu Archive is a multi-sensory publication that documents the small details that make up a home. Through articles, interactive elements, and sensory experiences, it explores ways of preserving familial experiences through a deeply engaging print medium.
Project Link

Stage 1
Mapped out personal memories, household rituals, and sensory experiences that could be translated into a multi-sensory publication.
Stage 2
Collected photographs, stories, family artefacts, sounds, scents, and household objects that could help recreate the feeling of being at home.
Stage 3
Designed and assembled the publication, incorporating articles, interactive paper elements, and sensory activities to create a more immersive reading experience.

Sound
Shake a collection of mislabelled kitchen dabbas and identify their contents by sound, recreating the familiar experience of navigating endlessly reused containers.
Smell
Match scents collected from around the house to their corresponding packets, relying entirely on memory and association.
Sight
Reassemble the family's seating arrangement by matching illustrated figures to their places at the dining table using visual clues from everyday routines.
Touch
Explore the publication through pop-ups, folds, perforations, textured papers, and photo albums that recreate the tactile experience of a lived-in home.

In a time where attention feels expensive and difficult to hold, multi-sensory experiences offer a simple way to slow down and connect deeply with stories that may not be yours.
